The Texas-born musician and his son were heading to his concert in Austin, Texas, when a pickup truck crashed into their van head-on. This was the first time Wall’s son was going to a concert with his father without his mother being present. Wall, his son, and four other crew members were in the van when the accident happened.

Wall, who was sitting in the van’s middle row at the time of the crash, said that he noticed the pickup truck heading right toward them when their van pulled into the concert venue before the show was scheduled to start. The rapper said that the pickup truck driver had blown through a stop light and was speeding at the time of the accident.

Both the van and the pickup truck were totaled in the crash. Wall and the people in his van had to climb out of the back of the vehicle because it had spun around on impact, and there was broken glass and metal bent inward. His young son was sitting right behind him when the accident happened, but he was wearing his seatbelt at the time. All six occupants were able to walk away from the scene with minor and moderate injuries.

Wall later shared a photo of him and his son before the accident and posted an update on social media. Wall said he was having difficulty walking and moving in general because he was sore and that his neck and head hurt so much that holding a conversation was difficult. However, he did seek medical attention and added that he was prescribed medication and will be okay in time. Wall also expressed gratitude that he, his son and the other passengers were able to survive the violent collision.

Police are still investigating the incident; no charges have been filed yet.
